Banking App for Children & Parents

I designed award-winning banking product for families. Interface for the children provides playful money management, while interface for the parrents provides supervision fetures. My outcomes led to significant increase of revenue streams and award of the Best Financial Innovation of the Year.

In Czechia, there wasn’t a financial product, that would properly fit needs of parents their children. All products lacked supervision features for parents and digital access for children. Also, a lot of children lacked financial education, leading to increased risk of debt traps in adulthood. We aimed to address these challenges by offering children-friendly banking app with education, and advanced parental supervision.

To validate hypothesis, UX Research Team conducted extensive discovery research on financial behavior among children and parents. The main outcome was a timeline of children and parents needs during each phase. From the findings, I derived insights to form properly targeted design.

For low-fidelity design, I gathered insights from stakeholder interviews and UX Research Team and brainstormed ways to integrate them as a product. Using Miro, I designed the product onboarding flow. Moving to high-fidelity design in Figma, I incorporated the user flow into the interface and customized the UI for the target audience, resulting in nearly 300+ screens.

For the parent's app, I pecisely designed onboarding flow to maximize conversion rates, such as design of simple QR code connection to child app. Then I designed friendly interactions to simply fund child's account, added a Financial Guidance section tailored specifically to the child. I also designed supervision features that include activities smart monitoring, advanced spending limits settings, child app lock, and a lot more.

The dashboard welcomes the child with basic settings and evolves as they grow, seamlessly transitioning into a full adult account. Collaborating with stakeholders, we defined permitted actions for children. Customization features allow children to personalize their app with backgrounds, color themes, and avatars. Savings tools feature gamification elements like visual progress tracking. An educational section offers simplified banking term explanations, tailored by age and experience. Crafting a universal tone for UX writing, we addressed the diverse age groups of children effectively.

I prepared a Figma prototype for UX Researchers and participated in the user testing. For Front-End Developers, I added annotations, and described Design System changes. Using my work, Marketing Department built a country-wide campaign for reaching up to 10 million people promoted in TV spots, billboards, emails, and social networks. Also thousands of bankers now explain and sell product, that I designed, to across the country.

Interviews covered family finances, while tasks tested comprehension of app features and financial concepts. Throughout the process, I ensured smooth interactions and empathetic communication, addressing any issues encountered. The results were promising, highlighting the design's clarity, with minor issues identified for further refinement. Continuous analysis and feedback collection further enhanced the user journey and product quality.
